Peace and tranquillity await at this luxurious and romantic lavender, wine and fruit estate, set in the heart of the Cape Winelands, South Africa. Bovlei Valley Retreat lies at the foot of the historic Bainskloof pass, Wellington, Cape Winelands, South Africa. Escape the big city and accommodation of Cape Town, and enjoy the peace and quiet of the beautiful town of Wellington.

Bovlei Valley Retreat is ideally located to explore the Western Cape. Only 45 minutes from Cape Town, 15 minutes from Paarl and 30 minutes from Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. 

Five well appointed guest suites are housed in the converted stables or farm cottage: all enjoy stunning views of the mountains, lavender and vines. All modern comforts are provided, including private veranda, television with Dvd player, air-conditioning, tea tray and pure cotton linen or enjoy self catering in the guava orchard. In the manor house, a luxurious guest lounge houses satellite TV and a large library of DVDs, CDs and books.

Bovlei Valley Retreat is also an exclusive wedding venue.

HONEYSUCKLEA large cottage room with Queen sized bed, overlooking the herb garden. Colours of African clay and classic pine decorate this room. Ensuite bathroom with overhead shower and marble tops.

 

IRISQueen sized bed in a double converted stable, with exits on 3 sides - one onto the herb garden, one onto a private stoep, and the third through French doors onto a private garden area with sunbeds and the lavender fields.

 

LAVENDERA large cottage room, overlooking the Lavender field and vineyard, across to Groenberg mountain. Queen sized romantic four poster bed with sensual fabrics and amorous white and silver furniture.

 

JASMINEA converted stable room with either twin beds or a king bed (bed topped with mattress topper, with a goose down king duvet). Decorated in soft greens and mahogany furniture, this room is chic, modern and romantic...

LILYA converted stable room with either twin beds or a king bed (bed topped with mattress topper, with a goose down king duvet). Decorated in soft greens and mahogany furniture, this room is chic, modern and romantic.

GUAVA -SELF CATERINGA spacious, homely and well equipped self catering cottage sleeping 2 or 4 people, secluded between vineyards and the guava orchard. Breakfast and dinners available on request from the guest house. Perfect for romantic getaways, or a breakaway with friends or the family.

Our team

Your hosts Mr Lee and Abbi WallisLee and Abbi welcome you to their estate set on the outskirts of Wellington in the heart of the Cape Winelands, just 45 minutes from Cape Town. The Wallis family moved from England in 2002, where Lee spent 12 years in the Royal Navy as an Emergency Doctor and Abbi worked in the hospitality industry. Today Lee is Head of Emergency Medicine for the Western Cape and Abbi manages the guest house with her team of staff.
